I fell in mad love with Velvet Tango the second I sprayed my sample. I purchased a full bottle immediately after. The violet is so beautiful, slightly sweet, slightly powdery with a beautiful soft boozy and woody dry down. It’s sensual and smooth and has great longevity.
This one is yummy! Can see myself buying a travel size to alternate with other scents I'm more fond of l.

Unexpected, but lovely. Definitely an afterdark fragrance
This perfume is definitely a dont judge a book by its cover. It initially has such a elderly stylish woman type smell. VERY powdery to me, instant transport to being with my Nana. HOWEVER once it settles on the skin and begins to dry down....it morphs into a totally different fragrance all together. It transforms and the violets and blood orange come out front and center. Creating a soft citrus floral, that has a earthy undertone without being overpowering, I'm obsessed. No more Grandmotherly scent and a much more updated scent comes out in full force. 100% Reccomend.
Truly a solid amber-leaning fragrance. Violet, tobac, and others blended well. Not too sweet and not too dark. An easy recommendation to give a test.
I wasn’t sure this would work for me. I don’t floral. But many of the other ones I tried that were non floral, while they smelled amazing, didn’t seem to have that lasting power on my skin. Everything stays on clothing, but I am talking thay transmutation that happens with an individual’s pheromones. I also know my skin does odd things to perfume, so it wasn’t a surprise when that happened. But…
Velvet Tango… it hung out. Shape-shifted. Transformed. Became something else. After a solid 20 of warming on my skin the floral became a background note and left me smelling like tonka and sensuality near a distant meadow. Not sure how else to describe it, but I do not smell like flowers. I smell clean, warm, hints of barely there orange, and the warmed wood of trees I absolutely adore. Some other soft, sweetness hangs out, and the violets underneath support the rest without making themselves known. It’s pure alchemy. Truly magical.

One of my favorite! Smells so good! Starts out a bit deeper and dries down to the violet/ oranges.
My skin typically doesn't agree with tobacco/boozy scents, but this one is more balanced with the violet and blood orange. There is a complex sweetness with a lot more depth than most perfumes I've tried.
I actually layer it with Cloudbreath to punch up the violet notes a bit. It's a really nice pairing for those who want to amplify the sweeter parts of this fragrance a little more :)

This is exactly as it says. It’s dark, dirty, almost like a high-class grunge. By that, i mean that the scent feels clean. It is not animalic but mimics that depth and I have a feeling this scent could be similarly polarizing.
I’ve sampled many fragrances similar to this, and I have hated every single one of them, but MDA does want many other design designers cannot do for me. They created a fragrance with depth that does not rely on patchouli, and that maintains it softness while hitting hard. It sits closer to the skin than not, isn’t cloying, and inspires me to keep reaching for another smell. Red Dakota by Dedcool is similar.
I really like it. It contains a lot of my favorite notes. I feel like it is a fragrance that would push me to grow, yet at the same time grow with me. And that makes sense because I don’t own anything like this and I never would have considered this a scent profile that I would want to keep in reach.

I think I just need to give up on any scents involving a boozy or tobacco note, as they simply do not agree with my nose. Unfortunately I couldn't detect the citrus or violet notes, or even much in the way of sweetness. All I could pick-up was the whiskey and tobacco, which reminded me too much of times past when my relatives would smoke like chimneys and drink like fish at family gatherings--and not in a pleasantly nostalgic sense.
Maybe if you're a booze or cigar enthusiast, or simply someone who loves exploring bold, strong, unusual fragrances, this would be to your liking. It seems my nose prefers the lighter fare from MdA. To each their own.
