Closer feels a little neutral as a Madison des Animaux fragrance. I don't have strong feelings about this scent, it doesn't really have a distinct identity like so many others in this fragrance house.

I tried. I really tried to love this. The scent profile sounds like something that I would enjoy, but all I get is constant animalic musk and dirty horse leather. I enjoy layering perfumes to give a balance of sweetness, brightness, greenery, florals, etc. I tried layering it with multiple different perfumes that I enjoy that could help the composition, but nothing. Ultimately, I get no boozy notes, no caramel, and not fruit. It definitely did not work with my chemistry.

That sweet tropical note is definite which I love.. gets it’s deepness though from the smoky woody leather which balances it out…. I imagine if I was staying in a historic hotel in Havana or maybe got to spend an evening at the Hemmingway house in Key West…. there is a glowy Amber nostalgia to it as well.
Very dynamic.. I will not be tiring of this one however it is potent (this is not a light and breezy tropical/tanning oil beach scent) and I typically don’t usually wear heavy scents, but I will make an exception for this one!
This is for a night of dancing and romance after laying on said beach

Word cannot express how much I love this scent. I wanted a gender neutral scent and I love the notes- bourbon, vanilla, and tropical fruit. It makes me feel sexy and powerful and I love wearing it at work.

Unfortunately, this scent is WAY too strong for me. Definitely a scent for someone who wants to be noticed.

Signature scent…. Not exaggerating. I have fallen in love with so many fragrances in this fragrance house, but this one? This one takes the cake. It’s the kind of scent that makes you want to commit all of the acts of infidelity against your other favorite scents….It literally leaves me craving more of it. Closer has this saturation in the fragrance that makes it impossible to be ignored. My husband literally tries to nuzzle and kiss my neck every time I wear this. He is obsessed. I let my teen daughter wear it and it has this unique morphing quality. Standing next to her smells entirely different than when I’m right up close to it. But what’s certain is that everyone will smell this beautiful masterpiece on you and you’ll be itching for your other bottles of perfume to endorse ethical non-monogamy! 5(00) stars!

Packaged well and arrived quite quickly in comparison to other sellers. Scents are great. Also received an extra sample which was quite welcome.

I bought this for my husband and believe I'm going to end up stealing it! It's sooo good. Highly addictive scent. Starts with a blast o lf syrupy tropical and then dries into this beautiful tobacco and leather.

This was the only one of of the sample pack that actually was true to the note description. It wasn't very strong, and very short longevity.

Kinda like an intimate conservation in a loud bar. It invites you to get closer to the person wearing it without it being cloying or overbearing. I originally got this in a discovery kit and knew I was going to get this in a full size version. It's delicious. Flirty without pretense. Right up there with Sirius as my favorite.

The only reason it’s not 5 stars for me is that it does not last as long on my skin as other fragrances. Wonderfully warm and has become my go-to for warm evenings. I think it will wear well in autumn and winter too!

MDA truly does leather and tobacco better than anyone, and Closer is a prime example—warm, sexy, and totally again, addictive.

I am so over the moon with Closer! It is all it was described as and everything I wanted!! Smokey (just a bit), sexy (a bunch) complex and edgy but so wearable!! Don’t sleep on this fragrance or this house!!

I saw Eau So Peculiar on TikTok review a discovery set and I had already seen ads for the house on Instagram, so I was excited to try. The scents are unique and wearable. The fragrance names were so fitting because they evoked that feeling behind the name when I smelled them. I received a free sample with my set, one I would not have chosen to try on my own and that’s the one I bought. I was kindly given Closer and it’s the perfect sultry, smokey, date night perfume of my dreams. I think my next purchase will be Cloudbreath.

I received this as a free try me size in an order of the 10ml Boheme with a lovely note explaining that it was the more "masculine" version of Boheme. And I've love it so much, it's been my go-to since. The warmer leather notes with the sweet ones is such a good combo and as I've found with this brand (I have 5 of their scents now!) the wear time is great and the dry down even better.

Of the ones I got in the box, I was excited for this as a bonus. It smelled really nice on the smell strip, but this fragrance dried down really powdery on me, which I did not like. However, I gave it to one of my friends and he loved it. It smelled a lot better on him than me

If this were a tropical drink it would be my signature! (Aside from the leather and tobacco!) Sits close to the skin so I imagine laying on a sunny beach will amplify it more!

Out of all the fragrances I tried in my discovery set, this one smelled the most like how I expected it would smell. I’m picturing… someone brought spiked punch to a barn party. There’s the dusty earth floor, the dry wooden walls, a bowl of not-too-sweet tropical punch spiked with bourbon, chewing tobacco, men and women wearing worn-in brown leather jackets and boots, and a hint of animalic musk. In the dry down, you get the aftermath of the party: dust, wood, dry earth, and lingering sweet perfume. I think this would make a killer date night perfume.

caramel and fruity tobacco is probably the last two things id want paired but this is actually a nice, complex, sweet fruity spicy scent. nothings overwhelming and it all balances itself out really well. makes me think of a really nice 80s department store when those things were still considered fancy
